CCB and the Food Truck

This blog entry is copied from the blog Trillustrations.

"I have a favor to ask, and I will be up front, this favor will cost money, but what you get to help make happen is AWESOME.

You have the opportunity to help make some wonderful peoples dream come true!

Help Cripple Creek Barbreque get a food truck! Chef John and his family (the beautiful Stacy and CCB Jr) make an amazing product, which you can find here at their website. I have used their sauces and gifted them to friends. Soon, the Shy Socialites Chef Davenport will be creating some delicious recipes using CCB products that we will be sharing with all of you.

In addition to making the sauce and rubs, Chef John is an amazing food-artisan (like my creative words), whose dream it is to bring delicious and healthy food to the masses via the Cripple Creek food truck. He is going to share his love of food and knowledge of healthy eating with others!

There are amazing gifts you can receive for different levels of sponsorship, most of the gifts are donated by small businesses, so there is a limited number of each.

Get all the details here."

Check out Cripple Creek Barbecue's video and then go to their page to make a pledge. They have $1,835 left to raise (at the time of this post) until April 30. If you cannot make a pledge, please be sure to pass this info along via blog, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Also be sure to check out their products on Zazzle.

New Cell Phone

Finally got my new phone today, the Samsung Continuum:

I've been waiting for it for about a week. At the Verizon store, it's $100. But if you go home and order it online it's only $50. I found a coupon on Retail Me Not and got the phone for $35 instead! Probably the cheapest I've ever paid for a phone, and I actually really like this one. (Prices are with a 2 yr. contract)

I just performed a series of tests with uploading posts to Blogger via the Blogger app, so if you saw some weird posts in your feed, that's why. I just wanted to make sure it was ready to go for when I go to Ohio with Dan next week for some job training he has to do. I wanted to make sure I was able to access my blog while I was away. :)

Do any of you have a Continuum? What do you think about it?

The Weather Outside is Weather

We've been pretty much guaranteed rain for the whole week. What happened to 72 and sunny?

Bringing Back Detroit

After hearing on the news that they are planning on fixing up the old train station downtown, I became inspired to create a few t-shirts in my Detroit shop. Each shirt has an old English D on the back. To view the back, click on the shirt and you will be taken to the sale page.

Nutritionist Business Cards

Just created a couple new business cards and put them up for sale in my shop. I might try to think of some matching products to go along with them, but not sure what they will be yet.

No Magnet to Report

On Tuesday, I said I had a photo sculpture magnet coming in the mail that I ordered as a present. It didn't turn out how I had hoped, so I have to get it made somewhere else, but Zazzle took care of me and I had no problems. I wrote about it on the forum, and just want everyone to know their customer service representative was awesome and they did a great job taking care of the situation. You can read everything I had to say over on that thread if you want to know the details. I'm glad it was handled so well, makes me even happier to be a part of a great company. Happy Friday everyone.

Happy Earth Day Everyone!

Amazon Milk Frogs

Just created a new lens about the Amazon Milk Frog. I decided to do some research on the little guy since I didn't really know anything about it when I photographed it last year. If you have photos of an Amazon Milk Frog please let me know, and I will add them to my lens, with a credit to you of course. If you'd like to check out more of my Amazon Milk Frog products, go here.

Amaryllis Magnet on the Way

A couple days ago I ordered a photo sculpture magnet of the Amaryllis flower I posted about last week. Zazzle has just shipped it out and it should be here by the end of the day Friday. I plan to give it to my fiance's grandma on Mother's Day, so I'm glad it will be here on time. I've never ordered a photo sculpture, so I wasn't sure how long it would take to process. I posted it for sale for those who may want to order it for themselves.

I think it will make a beautiful magnet, and I will be sure to post a picture when I get the package in the mail.

Daily Pics

A few days ago I joined a photo community called Daily Pics.

The idea is similar to Flickr, but a lot more social. If you are into photography I suggest you stop by to check it out and grab your own membership. Be sure to drop by my profile and say hi. :)

Running Around

I got quite a lot accomplished Friday. I picked up a new Red Wing's shirt for only $25 (score!), bought some nail polish strips for my nails and got them done and used my $10 gift certificate Kohl's sent me and got this $70 Sienna Ricchi purse for only $25 (another score!).

Today should hopefully be quite an eventful day. I have plans for the afternoon to spend some time with my family watching the Wings game and then it's whatever comes along for the rest of the evening. Now, if only I could sleep... :)

Amaryllis Take 2

The other day I shared a picture of an Amaryllis that I had photographed and had mentioned I wasn't too crazy about it. I took a little more time, re-photographed it and did a quick edit in some Adobe editing thing I have and voila...

Red Amaryllis II Postcard postcard

I think the flower looks a lot more beautiful now. :) The photo will be available on other products and can be found here.

A Very Gorgeous Day

We had a beautiful day today here in Michigan. It was a sunny day with a high temperature of 64 degrees (F) and a nice cool breeze. Not too hot and not too cold.

It's so great to know that Spring is here and Summer is on it's way. There are buds on the trees and I'm starting to see flowers bloom.

And I'm not the only one having some gorgeous weather today. Emily, known as MLeWallpapers on Zazzle is having a nice time in sunny California.

She says, "We hiked the 3.4 mile trail to Lost Palms Oasis today - we're vacationing around Joshua Tree National Park." Emily offers more description on her website, www.MLeWallpapers.com, saying, "In Joshua Tree National Park there are several real desert oases, the largest of which is Lost Palms Oasis. It's a moderately long hike to get there, but the reward is the largest collection of California fan palms in the park."

In Tennessee, Teresa (TeeGraphix) shared some vibrant tulips that she has growing in her garden.

I'd like to thank my friends on Zazzle for sharing their photos with me today. I went into the forums and asked them to try to go outside and shoot a photo. I know it is difficult to do something like that on a last minute request. I hope the rest of you enjoyed today as much as I did. :)

Cowardly Police Officer Maces an Innocent Baby Squirrel

Officer Davis of Mesquite, Texas maced a poor baby squirrel who was hanging around a middle school. The little guy was obviously not causing any harm to anyone, he was only doing what squirrels do. Bystanders pleaded and screamed at Officer Davis, trying to protect the baby squirrel. The cruel video can be see on YouTube, but be sure to turn your volume down because the people yelling at the officer are quite loud.

Steve from Zazzle created a video for his angry squirrels to send a message to the officer in Texas and say that they are not going to stand for his abuse!

He has even created a shirt that portrays the squirrel's revenge.

So what do you think? Was the officer's actions justified or does he deserve to be punished for his irresponsibility?

A Fresh Start

Well, it's been awhile since I've hung around the blog world. I have been overwhelmingly busy and had a bit of a writer's block for awhile. I needed a break, and now I believe that I am rested and ready to come back.
I've done a lot of work to my shop (Jasmine's Merch) and I have managed to create quite a few Squidoo lenses.

My top rated lens right now is Christian iPad Cases. It is rated #337 in it's category and #8,447 overall.
If you have a moment to check it out please do, because they are a lot of wonderful iPad cases from some great people over at Zazzle.

In some latest news from my shop, I've recently added a photograph of a beautiful Amaryllis flower.

That is an iPad case with a text template for adding your name. The text is optional, and can be deleted. The only other products I have the photo on include a mousepad and a poster. I'm not too crazy about that particular photograph and am thinking about having another shooting session with it. I did it very quickly and would like to take a little more time playing with it. Someone else may think otherwise, but I like to give my customers options.
